Basic Cleaning
It was the first thing that caught your eye in the showroom. You had to have it. Your family and friends are raving about how good it looks. Even you are in awe of the excellent choice you made. Now you must maintain that gorgeous look.
After investing so much time designing your living space, it's time to maintain your investment. Cleaning can be a labor of love! To keep your tile looking gorgeous for its full life, follow these instructions! |

The care of your sealer goes hand-in-hand with the care of your stone. We recommend a pH balanced soap to clean stone. In our showroom, we sell HMK® cleaning products as well as the Miracle Sealants® cleaning line. Ideally, we would recommend using these products. If those are unavailable to you, we suggest clear, mild dish soap such as Ivory® or Palmolive®.
Clear, mild dish soaps should be diluted with water, in the same way you would to do your dishes, and then applied like any other cleaning agent. We strongly recommend that you DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING: bleach, ammonia, abrasive cleansers, store-bought sprays, etc. If you are unsure of what you should be using for your particular stone, please call us. |

Very easy care! Most any cleaner can be used on glazed ceramics. Most cleaners available at your grocery store will work fine. We do not suggest you use any abrasive cleaners. For day-to-day cleaning, avoid products with bleach or ammonia. Only use bleach or ammonia sparingly for tough stains. |

The “easiest of easy” care! There is little or no absorbancy when it comes to porcelain, so it can be cleaned with almost any product. Our suggestions are:
1. Your preferred floor cleaner, diluted with water, is the best way to clean porcelain tile.
2. A natural fiber string mop will do the best job when cleaning large surfaces. Sponge mops just don’t work as well.
3. Bleach should only be used as a last resort and if used, it should be diluted with water. |
|
Very easy care! Most distributors and suppliers suggest either glass cleaner or mild soap and water. Absolutely no abrasive cleansers! We do not suggest using any bleach or ammonia or any product with a high bleach or ammonia content. |

The care of crackled glazes is very similar to the care of stone. As crackled tile
must be sealed, the care of the sealer goes hand-in-hand with the care of crackled
tile. We suggest a mild, pH balanced soap diluted with water. Do not use bleach or
ammonia at all or cleaners with a high concentration of either one. Abrasives are
definitely out of the question, too! |
|
Super easy care! Most metal tiles can be shined with a little bit of natural shoe polish such as KIWI®. The polish will add an extra layer of protection against scratches. For cleaning of metal, we suggest mild soap and a soft
rag. No abrasives! No bleach! No ammonia! |
